No floppy drive, no serial port, just a USB. Sounds to me Apple has a handle on what the future is.

Who in the heck wants a 1.44 floppy drive? USB is the future, and Apple looks like there are going to make sure the iMac takes full advantage of USB.

I don't own any Macs, I have a P2 400 arriving Wed. After reading all these posts, I am thinking of picking up a iMac for my mother.

That iMac is way cool.

Eric - I saw the same article earlier this AM and sent numerous emails to managers at CNET - I cc'd the letters to Compaq (the primary advertiser on the review page). I told Compaq I have just imposed a buying hold (boycot) on their computers in my NT offices (Denver, Houston, Corpus, Lafayette). I despise blatant misrepresentation.

Irony of ironies - a couple of the emails bounced back - header read:

SAYS IT ALL.....

No problem with the boycott - I can now easily justify Imacs in the office (cost, office suite, navigator & Eudora, ethernet printing). I used to have a problem based on cost but that is no more. The Imac's are sweet. First one gets installed tonight at the reception desk.... will wait a day or two for "everyone" to want one and then my "shipment" should be in from MacWarehouse.
