I though the story ironic, and that it might show the extent of possible problems faced by John down there, hopefully get people to realize that he is perhaps walking on eggs in his dealings with the government of Belize, and taking great care not to break any! JMHO as to why we have no resolution yet; no scam, just "entrenched interests..." as you put it.
