Rebate Programs

The rebate programs that Cendant and TLC have been running are coming back at them. Received
notice today from the firm that conducts rebate programs for both companies. Effective immediately, all
manufacturers will be required to pay rebate invoice in 15 days.

Consumers are screaming loud and clear regarding these rebate offers from TLC,Cendant and others.
Pay them quickly or face consequences. Several software companies (not TLC or Cendant) are facing
suits for misrepresentation on rebate offers.

Many retailers are concerned because the consumer comes back to the retailer for resolution when
manufacturer fails to pay in a timely manner. Some retailers have turned down promotions for this
reason.

Net result, future rebates will have to paid in a timely manner and rebates are coming under higher
scrutiny. <<<

so much for TLC which has based it's revenue growth on rebates...

what's the next shoe to drop???
