Then perhaps the person I spoke with did not have all the facts. But the result is the same for me and you. Let's end this here. At MBT you cannot do it without setting up a separate account. At some other brokerages, including yours, you don't need the separate account.

Peter and all, as to the previous conversations about boxed hedges, check out this link from Nasd notice to members 98-65. I got it from the soes trading thread.

related accounts for customers who maintain accounts in their name and exercise

control over a second related account, usually held in a family member's name.>

According to the Nasd these positions are supposed to be netted out.
