Welcome back Julius, In the four months I was in the Islands, I never got to Maui. I'm a bit jealous, but I'll control it!! A quick look at the numbers for the Idiot Wave show a marked decline in the Value Line P/E from previous weeks. This will bring the whole of the Wave down again this week. I'll have the report up later today at the AIM web site.

I remember when I first started to notice some patterns to the data that I use for my "Best-Worst Index." That was in the mid 1980s. Like swings in the Barometer, it probably tells more about what's just happened than about what's next. However, looking just at the extremes of the data seems to give some predictive benefit. I found that it was the confirmation of having all of the four components of the IW in concert that gave the best indications.

Best regards, Tom

Julius,
Your earlier comments on fractal dimension as a measure of volatility and a look at the stocks you listed prompted me to program it for a Quotes Plus scan. Agree that that it appears to be a useful screening tool.
I used the Box Dimension algorithm -- am not familiar with the 'Richardson representation'.
Are they related?

Bob

Hi Julius

Would you be interested in sharing a pseudocode version of your fractal dimension algorithm with anyone (say, for example, me:-)
