One story has it that Starr's report to Congress contains a long line of transgressions and obstructions of justice, dating back to Whitewater, loans from McDougall's failed S&L,travelgate, etc. ad nauseam. Starr was in the process of ending the Indep. Coun. investigation when the Linda Tripp thing fell into his lap. According to the story, Starr felt that he needed one instance where he could show Bill conclusively lied to really make his case, and looks like he got it.

This story ran on CNBC when the Monica thing hit, but has been buried ever since.

Impeachment is highly improbable and should be off the table. But, to see him cornered into the utmost of humiliation is almost good enough for me. We dont have to know all the facts. If we did, evidence against him would be more than overwhelming. Where is the dress?
This is all about weakening him and rendering him useless. The real crimes were comitted in the soon to be forthcoming campaign finance inquiry with its own special prosecutor. This will be the body blow to both Clinton and Gore. Now, thats entertainment.

enigma, the Clinton spin doctors have been very effective in convincing the public that the issue is about sex. The liberal bias of the press helps the spin doctors a great deal. I suspect there will be much more than sex in Star's report. We shall see. Mike
