The rival party, unable to engage on the grounds of foreign policy or the domestic economy, dug in the only fertile ground they could find. One wonders how many Republican private lives could withstand the same scrutiny. I worry that if we insist on having a President who has never done anything wrong, we may end up electing people who have never done anything at all but look convincing on camera.
