1. I am looking for a data source that will tell me what type of market we are currently looking at. Is the trend up or down? I like decision point charts quite a bit. They are free for the most part although there is a pay service involved. Take a look at the daily and weekly charts and then do some exploration of the historical charts. decisionpoint.com 2. A data source that tells me which industries are currently driving the market. An industry ranking by recent return... 3. A data source listing the top stocks in the above requested industries. Investors Business Daily might have some of this. I would suggest you look at the indexes which are tracked (such as the SOX) index and then get their components from the various exchanges. exchange2000.com will give you some of these.
