betty,

Observations based on IMS script numbers for both MUSE and Viagra:

1)Contrary to the shorter's distortions MUSE is effective and still has a chunk of loyal patients.

2)Both Viagra and MUSE appear to have about a 50% success rate.

3)Based on Viagra total scripts and the analysts lowest estimate of 10 million men with ED, Viagra is only capturing a mere 10% of the ED market.

4)Based on the Viagra failures, there is a huge number of men who have made at least one trip to the doctor to seek treatment. This is where Vivus' market share will be most effectively tapped.

5)Based on 4) the present sales force under Alza working for Vivus has been completely ineffective at recapturing market share lost since Viagra's introduction.

6)The only remedy to 5) is for Vivus to sign a domestic partner.

I'll say it again in case anyone from Vivus reads this thread:

DOMESTIC PARTNER! DOMESTIC PARTNER! DOMESTIC PARTNER!

For those who used to wonder and ask:

1)Does MUSE really work?
2)Is there really a large ED market to profit from?

The answer is YES!!

The 2nd most important question now is:

Why can't Vivus recapture lost market share and in fact gain more than before Viagra if there are about 50% of men failing on Viagra and a significant at risk pool to draw from?

The answer is:

The product is not being effectively marketed.

And now the 64k question is:

When is Vivus going to sign a domestic partner so we can regain our paper loses and maybe make some profit?

In my last discussion with Vivus I was told that a deal was on the table and that the details needed to be hammered out. I was also told that although the official Company statement is to find a partner by years end that this should happen sooner rather than later.

I have no reason to believe that I was deceived and thus far out of the 2 things discussed of substance the part about a press release has indeed been materialized.

PS Today's volume is terribly low. Looks like the mms will churn us from 5 to 5 1/4. I agree betty that with no news we will close Friday at 5 so the 5 options all expire worthless.
