I live in Canada, and I have called every single broker I can get my hands on, and the best one I could find was a broker out of Quebect that would allow shorting of OTC from 65 cents or more.

The next best was the Royal Bank that would allow from $2.00 or more. All of the others won't allow shorting on OTC, CDN unlisted, vse, ase.

The costs involved are high too. On marginable securities, you have to put down 150%. For the two brokers that would allow otc shorting it was much higher.

I was told by a person on this thread that Scotia Mcleod would allow it if you had an account with $250,000 or more, so I called, and offered to switch to them if they would allow that, and they informed me that no one would allow that. Only MM could short stock at that price.

However, if anyone finds a broker that will, please send me the contact numbers. I sure would love to be able to box my trades on the OTC.
