Well said Steven. To make another comparison. LBJ lied about the Gulf of Tonkin. Over the next decade, 70,000 American youths and more than a million Vietnamese were killed, several nations were irreparably damaged, and at home social and political strife was set afoot that is still being worked out.

Steven, Reagan's policies of lower taxes, less government intervention and pro-business is what spurred this economy into becoming the world's great economic power again. THANK GOD for RONALD REAGAN! He saved America from going down the economic socialist tube like most of Europe. And in the process reinvigerated the Military. If the House and Senate were not controlled so completely by Tip O'neil and his cronies, spending would have been slowed or cut like he wanted and the deficit would never have happened.

I remember what it was like trying to find a job out of High School in the inner city with 13% unemployment, and 17% interest rates. Jimmy Carter might have been the nicest person in the world, but as far as an economist he was clueless!

Michael

Dear Steve.
I don't see an analogy in these situations. Clinton has done far more than Monica thhere was Jennifer FLowers, Paula Jones etc. Then we have Whitewater, Vince Foster and the finale of the re-election money scandals. The man appears to be devoid of integrity. How can we determine the hurt to the children like mine that are eating in a restaurant with a TV on and they are talking about what kind of sex did our President have with a woman less than half his age that he covered his lies about her by paying her off with jobs, and gifts etc... I am sorry but if he wants this job it is a fish bowl life and requires a man with integrity and tremendous self control. Other Presidents have stumbled in this area but I do not think it is good for them or any married man. Call me old fashioned or right winged whatever I still think a marriage is sacred and should be kept pure. If not then why stay married and why be a President if you can't avoid reckless behavior?
Nancy
P.S. FOr me I would prefer a man with to much loyalty than none. Also, I am sorry for the pain you experienced with Marcos.
