Nancy,

<<they are talking about what kind of sex did our President have with a woman less than half his age that he covered his lies about her by paying her off with jobs, and gifts etc...>>

I understand exactly how you feel about that - I have kids too - but I also realize that men in power have been doing this since the concept of power found its way into our muddled lives. It's only now that we're making a huge public deal out of it. If we start publicly dissecting the private lives of our entire public caste (or for that matter of most private lives) our children will hear far worse. Do we need to live better lives or refrain from taking dissection to extremes? Possibly both.

I think it has less to do with integrity and self-control than with our entire concept of power and its perquisites, and the kind of people attracted by those concepts. A Filipino politician caught with his hands in the till (bigtime) once protested, in honest confusion, "what are we in power FOR??". Clinton probably felt the same way. If we want people with honesty, integrity, compassion, and humility to lead us, we need to change our concept of leadership. The way things are now, they wouldn't get past the first cut.
