Monica is the one problem that the stupid American public is able to understand. Anything else is too complicated.

It's doubtful that Star can make anything other than this situation stick. This is his wild card. Let's face it. Clinton is a very smart politican, but he really screwed up here. This will impede his agenda until the end of his term.

Too bad.

One thing I'm kind of curious to know is who approached whom? I mean, if she approached me, and insinuated that she was willing to put forth, well... Bill and I are only human.

Yeah, how right you are...one very po'ed Hilary Rodham Clinton. she'll be rodhamming him alright, for the next two weeks. Do I hear an old Stones song in the background "Can't go no...can't go no..." There it goes again. I don't suppose he and Hil'll be cuddlin up together too much there in that snuggly seaside community these next two weeks. Whew! A fly on the wall of that happy little hamlet! Can you imagine what its like when those two lawyers are trying to negotiate each other ? Talk about point, counter-point, innuendo, context, implication, rebuttal, redress, my head is swimming.

On second assessment, I think they'll be plotting a political exit strategy jointly. Separately I believe she will be pondering a "cut bait" strategy ala Monica to save herself, while she is still seen as the victim. Remember she is specifically called out in the IC's investigation.

Take special note to the definite coverage of two things today.

1 - Hil's spokesperson made sure the world knew the First Lady was STILL STANDING BY so no fault there, protect that constituency. Which she will need in some possible future scenarios.

2 - Hil's spokesperson made sure the world knew the First Lady only LEARNED THE FULL TRUTH just last weekend!

This is definitely political posturing. I mean what has anybody heard specifically of Hilary in the past 7 months? Other than that silly VRWC theory, which now has stretched so large as to include both Monica and Bill. Then pow! These two so clearly broadcast and distributed. Read the signals!

This is definitely grounds for plausible deniability. We are witnessing the first inkling of the sundering of the Clinton alliance.

And speaking of signals. If that REALLY was a gift tie from the current OTHER woman, that Bill wore Monday night. Well talk about a nosethumb job. The ink will be drying on the Marriage Dissolution Notice before I finish composing this particular post.

Thank you for e-mailing me about the Independent Counsel's
investigation of President Clinton. Following is a statement I
released last night after watching the President's address to the
nation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Statement of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
August 17, 1998

"President Clinton was right to take full responsibility for his relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Clearly, he was wrong to have that relationship in the first place. I feel great empathy for the President's wife and daughter as they come together to deal with this as a family."

I don't believe in being led by liars or philanderers. Do you ? Please vote your moral fiber and not your political leanings on this one, when it comes. Do it for Chelsea, do it for the children.

Respectfully,
