High Grader,

I followed the Elliot Wave theory for years, as defined by Robert Prechter in the 80's. I read his book twice, and found some of the information very appealing. At the time, however, he maintained that the theory worked mainly on indices with a large basket of stocks and to a lesser extent with commodities. Prechter's fall from grace did not diminish my appreciation of Elliot's insight.

What has changed during the 90's that makes the theory applicable to individual stocks? I must admit that your software's calls on Apple have been compelling. TIA for your reply.

Also, do we really have a breakout today? I thought the range was between about 48 3/8 and 48 3/4 as you called a couple of days ago. Haven't we simply touched the upper side of the range, and thus remain vulnerable to a retrenchment? I bought more puts today in anticipation of a pullback, but I am also very amenable to taking a loss and going long again.

Sam

High grader,

I'm going out of town tomorrow, so I won't be able to witness stock action next week. I just wanted to say that if AAPL bottoms at your 38 projection, then this entire thread will officially proclaim you God. The # of bottoms and tops you've hit on AAPL are amazing, and now as I watch AAPL is proceeding downward at a quick pace just as you suggested it would.

Good luck next week,

Andrew

Hello High Grader,
following your theory of a bottom around 38-39, this morning
I bought some Jan. 40 calls at 5 1/4. At the present time they
are at 6 5/8, not bad.
Keep up the good work, and most of all keep us posted with your
Apple charts!

Regards,
Paolo
