>>Nixon resigned and we did not have years of political turmoil. How would this play out any different?<<

I disagree. As I recall you went through a good deal of turmoil in the post-Nixon years. Nixon's resignation resulted in the independent counsel statute, which has not worked well for you. Nixon's resignation and Ford's amnesty remained hot issues. Indeed Carter's victory in 76 was at least partly attributable to public anger about the amnesty.

>>The focus needs to be on the administration of policy for which one is elected.

I agree that focus should be on policy.

Nixon resigned because he altered the outcome of a National Presidential Election through fraudulent means.

Clinton had sex with a young woman and lied about it.

The magnitude of Clinton's offence is infinitesimal when compared to Nixon's.

With regard to "did not have years of political turmoil", do you really want to bet the world that a Clinton resignation will have no long term effect in this much more dangerous and unstable world.

Think about 10,000 nuclear warheads pointing at you from a crumbling Russia.

Do you think that Clinton should be focusing a little more energy on that problem rather than a sex scandal?

Think about Iran having the capability of delivering a nuclear warhead to our shores in 10 years

Do you think that Clinton should be focusing a little more energy on that problem rather than a sex scandal?

Think about the collasped Asian economies with Japan, China, and Mexico on the precipice.

Do you think that Clinton should be focusing a little more energy on that problem rather than a sex scandal?

Think about Terrorism, Global Warming, Poverty, Pollution, Immigration.

You probably get the picture.
