I agree with you except the following statements:

It does not mean there are not better products in the pipe just when it comes to deployment the Telcos will side with experience.. <<

When Microsoft, INTEL, Compaq, and other giants sided with DMT-ADSL early this year, the war between DMT and CAP has been virtually over.
No more new CAP-ADSL deployments from RBOCs since then.
