Hey Ian, Congratulations on your iMac quote in the NY Times. (I'm sure the thread has already congrulated you, but I'm so busy I'm only sampling posts right now). I might come up to the 5th Ave CompUSA this w/e to check out the iMac. I'm kind of sitting on the trading sideline these days too, apart from a couple of small options trades. I find it hard to tell how much the iMac's success is already priced into AAPL. Like, if they have a blowout quarter, how much would that move the stock price? Apple's strength is no longer a secret known only to a few diehard SIers. So is there going to be some kind of iMac party or Q4 revenue party for the NY AAPLheads? Let me know and I'm into it. rhet0ric

Ian, do you have a feeling that the PII is too hot to be used in a small enclosure like the iMac? The heat dissipation was one of the things the Compaq guy was marveling over. In any case, looks like no iMac competition in the looks department until next summer, if then. Wonder if the iMac/Compaq article was taken down so that the Compaq guy could keep his job ... Matthew, sorry to hear about what's going on in Australia. I did see an article saying that sales of computers were expected to rise in Australia this year. The iMac price in Japan came out better than expected. Perhaps something similar will happen there. Btw, Rafter was awesome the past two weeks. Marc
