No technology is ever 100% proprietary and there are always competing technologies. Competition breeds customer awareness and validates new techniques. One of the marketing problems Imat has had is convincing the world that calcium scoring is an accurate and valid gauge of heart disease. Now it looks like the rest of the world is starting to wake up and smell the roses.

Secondly, the managed care establishment has been and is highly resistant towards preventive diagnostic tests. The more that are available should help to push the insurance companies to use these procedures.
