To all, RE:DELL CALLS <There were tremendous profits to extract from Dell's August 115 calls. Many speculators bought the calls Tuesday on the correct assumption that Dell would issue a strong earnings report after the market's close. Dell shares opened yesterday at 120 13/16, compared with a 109 9/16 close. The calls closed Tuesday at 1 3/8 and opened yesterday at 6 1/4. from todays WSJ>
Can someone explain to me how the trade described above works or refer me to reading source. How long do the calls last before expiring? Why would it be such a tremendous profit if they only go up 5 points? etc. I may try this next quarter, I don't know. THanks
