A certain amount of our tax dollars are spent every year enforcing the law. You know that. I for one am very happy to allocate only $50 million over 5 years to make sure the President of the US abides by the law and does not abuse his power. This amount pales in comparison to the discretionary spending the president gets to make every day in office. For example, when it got hot in Texas, he allocated $100 million for air conditioners and fans. His China trip cost $45 million alone. $10 million per year out of a national budget of $1.5 trillion is a very very small price to pay.

Now, the other issue is how it is spent. The president himself, by delaying the truth for 7 months, has cost taxpayers at least $7 million.

This investigation is about obstruction of justice and abuse of power. Not sex. His fate will be decided on legal merits, not sexual. Those are what you should pay attention to in the next several weeks. Not sex.

What relevance does Mississippi or any other state have to do with Whitewater? Both the Clintons and Tucker obtained fraudulent loans in the course of Whitewater. The Clintons were also involved in keeping the FDIC from prosecuting their fraud.

<<Anyway, whatever Jim Guy Tucker did, it had nothing to do with the Clintons>>

Not quite true - there was a check made out to the Clintons for repayment of a loan they swear was never made, related to the same scandal Tucker went down for. It's all part of what was uncovered by Starr. We all need to be patient - with any luck the Starr report will be fair and complete. I'm not out to hang him, but I don't want him getting away with too much either.

Get real DougHboy,

That's a sitting Governor that was taken down, and he has been a cooperating witness. Don't be surprised if part of his testimony is that Gov. Bill taught him everything he knows, and put him in touch with some pretty cool contacts too.
