Please demonstrate to me how this is possible using actual numbers in a passive, non-collusive environment. Bear in mind that it requires a change in perception on the part of potential buyers.

Remember that having bidders get out of the way presumes that they somehow have control of the bidders. Are you suggesting that they sell in the money calls and then proceed to short the stock? That's a far cry from claiming manipulation from market makers.

So far, I find the knee-jerk explanation of market maker manipulation facile and lacking not only in proof, but lacking in economics. I guess you'll just have to show me.
