Not true.

Linux is a threat because it runs on Intel hardware. Sun, HP, etc. don't really generate revenues from the lower end of the UNIX market, the stuff that runs on PCs.

Linux is a threat to Windows 98/NT strictly because it is free, cheap, runs on existing (inexpensive) hardware, and is *stable* and *reliable*.
