Notice I ALSO stated "I voted for the man who reflected my views".

I would rather have my second choice in office than suffer through the administration of the candidate who did not reflect my views.

Unfortunately, voting in elections sometimes is done with two goals in mind - getting someone elected, and making sure someone else does NOT get elected. For example, if you are against gun control, you might want to vote for a Libertarian that has a strong anti gun control stance. But it's even more important to make sure the pro gun control person does not get elected. In those types of elections, you vote for the lesser of two evils, because you KNOW (even though you may be wrong) that your ideal candidate is un-electable because of his/her third party status.
