alex...with all that is going on, that article puts forth a very bad scenario....that may be some of the worst news, and have the greatest effect on the US of any and or all of the other events in an immediate time frame.

Alex, Russia is intriguing because it's obvious that not everyone will be paid. So IMF must choose between increasing instability in a country with lots of nukes, on the one hand, or damage to major western financial institutions on the other.

Who will get stiffed? The workers (not paid for months) or Duetche Bank, Citicorp etc.?

My bet is all of the above (i.e, Russia will descend into political instability and Western financial institutions will get burned to boot).
