Apple's been Microsoft's R&D department for years,

Quite true, the most important developments of this decade such as the Internet, the Web, Java, tcp/ip, Corba and multi-threading all came from Apple.

<<Ian, do you have a feeling that the PII is too hot to be used in a small enclosure like the iMac? >>

1999: PC manufacturers have adopted a method of filling computer chassis with a polymer gel. The reason is to reduce temperatures of the 500 mhz Pentium II without the addition of loud cooling fans.

This has triggered a new need for PC techs who must now have hazmat training in addition to tech support skills. The PII Cooling Gel has been known to cause cancer in lab animals and convicts.

Marketed under the brand name Intel Cool Gel with Rapper Ice-T, the product has produced mixed revues. Complaints of an added 30 pounds of weight to PCs and 10 pounds to laptops are common. While others consider this to be revolutionary to the PC industry allowing for even faster, more efficient CPUs from Intel.

Intel Cool Gel comes in four cool colors to compliment the new transparent computer chassis that have it the market. Those colors are Frosty Blue, Racy Red, Sunup Yellow, and Minty Green
