Hi John....

I don't think you can suggest a specific reason for there being no conference call. After all, they had good reason to have a conference call following the end of May announcement, too, and passed on that opportunity as well.

John, we have to face reality.

It is simply because of who they are. And, the bottom line is that they are not communicative.

My own *guess* is that the stock wouldn't have reacted this poorly to the current news (they did, after all, indicate they would be in the black in the fourth quarter), if the company had a decent relationship with a number of analysts and broker dealers. Unfortunately, that sort of relationship takes time to build, and it isn't clear that it has ever become a priority.

Right now, the stock is unquestionably reacting to margin pressure, as it is trading at approximately book value, the company will be profitable next year, and there are a number of technologies in the lab that might actually amount to something. It is a stupid sale here. The company's total capitalization (as I write this) is only $64 million!!! Hard to believe, considering the facilities, the value of the technology, and even the Siliscape arrangement. Wow...what management has wrought!

Perhaps despite my earlier assertions, the company will find a way to "clean up" the forced selling by retiring the shares under its old repurchase authorization. At least that would send a signal to the market that the world isn't coming to an end.

Of course, to be fair, they could have said that in a conference call, too, assuming they actually thought communicating something beyond the raw data of the release was important.

Can you teach an old dog new tricks?
