The barrier to entry in Dell's business is as you pointed out above; therefore, for those wondering about clones and upgraded or futuristic PC models, the questions are moot. It is apparently still not understood that the key to Dell is the business model, not the product per se. The product is a result of the business model not the other way around.

Thanks for the input. I am in agreement that the model WORKS for DELL...please explain why compaq cannot copy this...one thing that comes to mind is that compaq may have stronger supplier relationships? just digging for more info...appreciate your input, GR
