<< Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) fell 1-15/16 to 110-5/8 after warning
sales of Windows NT 5.0 will suffer because Novell Inc. (NOVL)
is releasing new software designed for the corporate network.>>

memery, while it appears that Schmidt can take solace in his current position with NW 5.0 release next month, I still sense his acute awareness in terms of the challenges ahead. Not so much the product challenges, as those related to marketing and awareness of Novell's solutions available "now" not "later". In fact, I've grown to respect his abilities and vision increasingly over time. I'd still feel the same way, whether I had a long position on Novell or not. He's doing the necessary methodical steps required to build Novell's future. I expect this to become prevalent amongst Wall Street over time.

Regards,

QuadK

To the extent the above statement is true, it is proof positive that the market is completely irrational.

Novell getting business from Microsoft has Microsoft losing about 4.9 billion in market cap while Novell gaining about 45 million in market cap. Think about it.

I've heard unfounded speculation that Bill will have to buy NDS in order to get directory services for his OS.
