Don't forget the gratuitous use of the term "bimodal distribtution(sic) of trade latencies," at Message 5527982 . Then there's "the distribution of execution latencies could not be bimodal!" at Message 5529829 . Also, "The key is reducing the variance of the estimate. To do that, we must identify the independent variables. Please list the factors that come to your mind that effect the time required to fill an order. Then, for each variable, identify meaningful levels of each variable. For example, "Size of order." Now you should enumerate the levels of this variable (e.g., 1-99, 100-1000, 1000-5000, 5000+, whatever you think the meaningful breaks are) that will differentially influence the fill time. Do this for each variable. It may be difficult at first, but take a stab at it. I'll help you along the way", atMessage 5533858 . Then there's this one, exhibiting a level of pomposity approaching old SJB....https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=5557200 In the above post, there is this..."I estimate that a 1/16 will cost me $250,000 per year!" Unless my math is wrong, and assuming all his trades are 1000 shares, that means he makes 4000 trades per year, or an average of 333 trades per month. Now, I and many others, as daytraders, certainly approach that amount and beyond. But I could have sworn he said he had a job as a research methodologist or something. Forgive me for not taking the time to find the exact post. If I am wrong about his employment, I stand corrected. Too bad he won't be here to correct me, since he said he wouldn't be back here. (He is way too perfect to go slumming down here in our lower social strata, as he pointed out). But I guess we all know he will be back, because he already has shown that he is following at least MY posts, and probably this thread's as well. What's too bad is that a playful jab at him too easily pierced his thin skin and grabbed his fragile psyche, preventing him from being able to see it for what it was. Then the attacks came. But of course, it was I who was the attacker. How predictable. And TLC, of course it's personal. When we laugh at other's silly or mean behavior, it's personal. But to paraphrase Dom Herrera, We don't mean that in a BAD way. Len
