Pride and all,

I've buying since the summer of 96 also. And share your sentiments. Justa has commented on the "Brinker effect" on UTEK, which means people like us who know he's right will not sell this company. I've been on the phone with UTEK IR this week and here are some facts:

1) UTEK sent out 11,000 annual reports for 96, but sent out over 38,000 of them in 97, due to, in their words, Bob Brinker. These people, like us, will not sell their shares.

2) UTEK believes it's just a matter of time before major pain is inflicted on any shorts because of the huge following of individual investors.

Some guy by the name of David Tice had a huge short position months ago. Does anyone know what he's doing now?

Rgds, D

RE: "beware of people who may be short and would talk negative about the stock. shorts were high this summer and they have to be getting concerned because this stock is trading in a pretty narrow range and does not seem to want to go down substancially."

UTEK has a float of about 15.9 million shares. As of July (15th?), there were almost 3 million shares short with a Shares-Short/Avg-Daily-Volume ratio of almost 20 days. It would seem that the shorts would indeed be getting nervous.

Best wishes,

I2
