I think you are conflicted by confusing your human Biology with your personal, religious beliefs. Religion is damaging to humanity. lorrie, I think we're so far apart that it we could debate for years and not get any closer to agreement in any areas. You sound almost exactly like Christine of the "Let's talk about our feelings" thread. Except of course, Christine has a husband and daughter. But I will, for some bizarre reason, make some response.I'm not saying that great effort has not been put fourth transculturally, to train men to "control" their sexual biological imperative ...that's what "religion" has attempted....along with "promise keepers conventions". "Religion" has been and continues to be a miserable failure, in that regard. "Holy Wars" have extinguished the lives of more Women and children, than the men fighting them. Okay, so I understand that you're not too fond of the institution of marriage. "State sanctioned prostitution" I believe you call it. Okay, fine. I'm not married either, yet. But clearly we have to get back to the children to talk seriously. Obviously if the world is going to continue, there needs to be children raised by someone. "Raised" as in nurtured, fed regularly, given love, attention, guidance, etc. As I said before, the majority of Western civilization prefers the two-parent household for raising children, with the same two parents being there for the duration of the "raising". That at least is the ideal, which provides a secure and loving family base from which to raise children in Western civ. The estate of Holy Matrimony provides the official covenant which states the terms that the partners prefer and agree to abide by. It's something that's done purposefully and willingly, with a vision and purpose for the future. *NOT* as in pimps and prostitution, whereby women are sexually controlled through threats of violence. Again, I think it's obvious to anyone that the vast majority of women in this country *prefer* a committed relationship wherein the man remains sexually faithful to his one chosen spouse. So when you say that "to train men to "control" their sexual biological imperative ...that's what "religion" has attempted....along with "promise keepers conventions". "Religion" has been and continues to be a miserable failure, in that regard. I have to wonder what country or civilization you're living in. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. If marriage is not for you, that's fine. It may not be for me either, I don't know. But the estate of Holy Matrimony, which is a declaration of a covenent before God and witnesses, is working, and it's the best thing going in Western civ. You keep mentioning some kind of "innate homosexuality" that you feel is somehow lurking within all the males out there. Homosexuality is deviant from what Nature's Law provides, from a "whole earth" perspective. Clearly if the majority of men and women were so-called "born gay", it would only be a matter time before the Law of Numbers would erase the last human existence from planet earth. Humans were created by God to multiply sexually, as in male-female copulation, and so far that has worked just fine. No need to reinvent the wheel there.
