Well, there has been talk in this thread about NOVL and MSFT meeting privately. I heard MSFT is having major problems with Active Directory and might want to license NDS from Novell.

Is this a total rumor, or is there some truth to it?

If it is true, I see two potential scenarios: 1) NOVL's NDS becomes a part of NT 5.0 and after a few years MSFT makes sure that anyone using NDS under NT has no backward compatibility to NetWare or other NOVL products - just like MSFT did with Java or 2) NOVL does it right and makes twice the money as they could alone.

In either case, such an press release would propel Novells share price above 20 before you can blink!!!

Any thoughts from this thread?

Fred:

I posted this information and thoughts on August 5 regarding IBM and SUNW rumors FWIW. Otherwise I just follow the news sources on rumors.
