here is CIEN's 40x DWDM product ciena.com. Again, as I said, soon CSCO and ASND will put ATM packets or IP packets directly over fiber, without converting to SDH frames and eliminate all the overhead. That's going to be the beginning of the end of TLAB. That's why TLAB offered 1:1 to begin with.

>> You don't have to be so hostile. <<

I'm tired of people who:

A) Can't even spell the company's name correctly. The name is right above your nose at the top of the screen. Talk : Communications Ciena IPO

B) Haven't done the research but still offer us their erroneous conclusions.

It's bad enough that there is so much speculation and so many unanswered questions in the last few weeks. The last thing I want to read is a bunch of wrong information with no basis in fact.

>> I'm just doing research and asking politely for information that will help with my research. <<

I don't remember you asking about Ciena's product vs. Lucent's product. I remember this:

"From research it looks like Lucent has 80 channel capabilities to
offer vs Cienna 16 channel technology"

All I did was tell you to go do some more research. Your research is NOT thorough and it is INCOMPLETE, just like the comments from Ibexx. (Mostly on the Lucent thread).

>> Some of us are not technically strong, but none the less we are intelligent enough to put everything together without attacking each other. <<

I'm not technically strong, but I can read a few posts or a few press releases to figure out that CIEN has much more than a 16 channel product out there. It also doesn't take too much to figure out that Lucent's 80 channel product isn't even available yet.

>> Perhaps someone who is less emotional can answer my previous question regarding LU technology. <<

Why don't you try reading a press release. Try reading some posts on this thread. Try visiting Ciena's website. Try Lucent's website.

The answer to all your questions are contained within the Lucent and Ciena threads. Why should we have to go over it again?
