Kashmir - Here is one view.

JPR:

I don't know whether I have posted this link here before but since I ran in to this I thought to post it any way. I have no idea whether this is a site put up by India or some by Kashmiris who wanted to let the world know about their point of view, obviously it is not by the Pakistanis or any of the militants.

Hari Singh's letter to Mountbatten dated 26th Oct.1947

Excerpt:
....."With the conditions obtaining at present in my State and the grreat emergency of the situation as it exists, I have no option but to ask for help from the Indian Dominion. Naturally they cannot send the help asked for by me without my State acceding to the Dominion of India. I have accordingly decided to do so and I attach the Instrument of Accession for acceptance by your Government. The other alternative is to leave my State and my people to free-booters. On this basis no civilized Government can exist or be maintained. This alternative I will never allow to happen as long as I am Ruler of the State and I have life to defend my country...

Couldnt help telling you of my experience in HArdwar at Hard-ki-Podi.

When I was about 10 and didnt know swimming, my brother swam to a rock in the middle of the river. He asked me to swim to him and he would catch me. Needless to say when I got to him, he missed me and i was carried away by the fast flowing river. Fortunately, this has happended many times before so they had a bunch of chains dangling from the bridge that floated under. Caught one of them and got saved.

I was out river rafting last weekend on California river near Bakersfield and later water skiiing and Jet Skiing. Great sports have been doing for 3 years in addition to Snow Skiing and Tennis

Breaking news from 'Que? Bull?','A$#goonistan'. New York times reports.

JPR: No, no joke.

I don't know you read this but here is something noteworthy from New
York Times.

Excerpts:

"
SLAMABAD, Pakistan -- The number of people killed by American missiles fired into eastern Afghanistan appears to be higher than first thought, with one estimate putting the death toll at 50 or higher........

At a news conference here Saturday, the leader of one of the groups apparently targeted in the attack said "about 50 of our people were killed and there is still more counting to be done."

The leader, Fazal ur-Rehman Khalil, said he is the central emir of the Harkat-ul-Mujahedeen, one of

Now This I like.

The other two groups hit by the missiles were primarily Pakistani, and, according to reports here attributed to government officials, both were active in sending Islamic militants into the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.......

Uh..Oh talk about creating a monster.....Come home to roost.

....."Americans themselves built the camps for the purpose of war, and now we use the buildings as education and welfare centers," Khalil said.
