<<The professional military advised Lyndon Johnson not to commit ground combat troops>>

Shall we declare open season on embassies until Mr. Starr is finished?

<<My daughter knows way too much about semen stains, DNA samples, "unusual" sexual practices, and receptive oral sex.>>

Is that because Bill did what he did, or because every talking head on TV had to devote several hours to it?

<<he did manage to conduct himself in a dignified way and keep his sexual conduct discreet.>>

Was he more discreet, or did he have to answer fewer questions? If someone decides they're out to get you, they will hang you as fast for a mistress as for an Oval Office fling. I understand that everyone is up to their eyeballs in talk of stains, etc., but this is to some extent attributable to prosecutorial overdrive.

<<try, try again with someone new.>>

Point of my post was that it's not that simple. An impeachment trial will last months, and the entire nation - especially the government - is going to be focused on it. Who will be minding the store? The point is made, he'll be gone in 2 years anyway, let's not destroy the village in order to save it. For all Bill's stupid moves, the store has done reasonably well on his watch, let him wrap it up and move on.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I do think it is entirely likely that decisions will have to be made that may have a very real effect on the course of the immediate future. I'd hate to see those points of decision slip by because we're all arguing over stains.
