Elliott Wave

David,

you said, "The Elliott Wave people also seem to think DELL is headed for trouble."

Forgive me, but I find it hard to believe that Mr. Plonk is "the Elliott Wave People". Furthermore, I find it somewhat amusing that you quote the Elliott Wave people... of whose methods you apparently hold little esteem.

Message 5545532

Also I think Elliott Waves are about as scientific as psycho-analysis.

Um.... David? Do you happen to be mildly schizoid? Or do you customarily enter into discourse by stating the equivalent of, "I am going to base my arguments on an unimpeachable source, which I consider to be very shaky indeed."

I find it frightening to contemplate that Australian schools may NOT be better than ours.

Regards, and GOOD TRADING, 3.

David-

I am very familiar with Bob Prechter, the guru of Elliot Wave..

Call up his boys the Gainsville, Ga. and ask them about using EWave on any particular stock.......they will (all) tell you that Elliot Wave does not work well on individual stocks.....it is intended for, and much more effective (supposedly) on overall market averages...
The poster (you listed) should know that....

Based on the fact that Prechter has been calling for the 5th of the 5th wave down for over 8 years now (for the overall market), and has missed the last 6,000 points or so of the Dow's run-up (while declaring gloom and doom all the way), I summize that reliance on EWave ( even for calling a larger market top) at this point would be pretty dumb, (not even mentioning TRYING to use it on Dell)...

Might work on the Ecuadorian sucre <g>, though....

I agree with the premise that markets (and stocks) can be ruled by emotion in the short-term, in the long-term, it's the fundamentals that will tell you the story.....and Dell has great fundamentals...

Keep trying to make sense of those lines, will ya....Let me know if you come up with something interesting...And next time, don't pick (one of the few areas) of TA that I know anything about!

Cheers!
