Horseshouter, Hi!!! <<Count me IN for the next DELL B-B-Q please. My uncle owns a resort in Fleischmanns right near Margaretville N.Y. (very close to New Paltz) so I can stay at his place and finally attend the Northeastern US' version of the "DELL love fest".>> Well the next one will be a challenge...weather permitting....we actually started these with a small group of friends.... Our first one just happened to be something of a coincidence .... The Ferrante boys; their wives; parents and children.....having a get together to discuss Dell and where it was going....Frank and I meet quite frequently at their farm stand early in the morning and chat about Dell....since this family provided plenty of talent for our wrestling team for years we have had a close relationship....oh the coincidence!! Dell pushed a 5 pt gain that day....previously I had held two barbecues at our place with all of them also attending...on both of these occasions Dell had approximately 3 pt. moves...if you remember last summer was a great Dell summer ...so, here we are at Linda and Sande's house laughing at the three occasions and watching the money pile up...somewhere during the party Lisa Ferrante decides: "We can't afford NOT having one of these each day"...:o) Then the summer ended and school began once again...when Spring came around and the Asian garbage was somewhat behind us we decided to hold these on the earnings or as close as possible...When CNN called to interview me for the Fortune show they flipped when I told them they could talk to a whole army of Dell shareholders...they quickly pulled some camera guy from Atlanta and somewhere else....flew up here and decided to do the barbecue and the interview at the same time...I know it sounds unreal but the people already coming to this wouldn't believe me they were here until they actually saw the camera crew....last weekend we once again held one and approximately 65 attended....another 50+ were away or for various reasons couldn't make it...our plans for the third qt. are not finalized by any means...but, I can assure you we will hold one here rain or shine...Any shareholder is welcome... Horseshouter, RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS HAVE CAUSED UNUSUAL DREAMS...... The past month Patrick, Drew and myself have been tossing some figures around...well, Patrick and Drew have been doing the math up until now ....good thing huh?... Somewhere around the end of the quarter I had the opportunity to hear a quote from Mort Topfer through an acquaintance...Mort had spoken to a group of VP's and made note that he expected "Dell to be doing $60 billion in sales by year 2000" .....he even repeated it twice!!.....Now, a statement like that can even get a guy like me to become interested in math...so you say how can that be?...Well, it might interest you that Patrick had them at $59.841 billion for that same time frame.... This past earnings report we hear Michael talk of the dream of all dreams...CHINA CHINA CHINA...scary scary subject...possibilities that no one can truly figure.. comforting to know that Mohan has reassured me that there may be a market here <<gg>> And, should you not believe Mohan....Mort has recently announced that he expects China to be the #2 region of Dell sales within five years..absolutely mind boggling possibilities.....I know all this seems like a fantasy and an unreal possibility.....Yet, Michael has told us: "WE THINK THIS GROWTH IS SUSTAINABLE SINCE WE HAVE ONLY 8% OF THE WORLD'S MARKET...THERE ARE A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF OPPORTUNITIES".....And then we have further reassurance from him: "YOU'LL SEE PRETTY RAPID ACCELERATION IN THAT BUSINESS".. Also this past Friday Dell announces that direct will be used sooner than anticipated.. Dell is.building not one but two facilities...it keeps going... Somewhere about two months ago I predicted five more splits in five years...since the end of the past quarter ...I have changed my opinions of Dell's growth... 1. Count your shares now.... 2. Double at the split in Sept... 3. And guarantee yourself five more in five years... This is a scary scary scary figure...for example 100 shares ($12,000) today becomes 3200 shares........ and @ $70 after a split becomes a stunning $214,000...... Now for those that doubt it...we, have had six splits in six years...Michael has told us to expect "MORE OF THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE THAN HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST"......I started betting on him 31 months ago and I am not about to change.
