If you mean "up" just long enough to get the deal done, I'm sure that's their hope, but if you mean an extended continuation of the bull market, why would that motivate them to go public now? Seems to me that if anyone knows the opportune time to raise the most while giving up the least, it's Goldman partners. If they thought the market would be materially higher six months from now, they would not be rushing to market in the current environment - they'd wait.

Jim, You are right that they have a plan not to go public is the market conditions are not right. I read this or heard it, just don't ask me where because I don't remember but I do remember how funny I thought it was that they may hold off on the IPO.
