its a buy at the open if it opens down looking to sucker people out of the stock. remember in 1996 amat had some layoff and basicly right when the industry started to turn and it came back to hurt. could be a contrarian indicator but it was expected and investors like semi because they know its a disater out there. semi are good safe bets because anybody buying them doesn;t expect any thing great news. remember, the market does not like to get surprised and those are the stocks that disappoint get cut in half. i haved played amat from short and long but this downturn is even uglier than i thought. still just trading amat but i see no reason or news for this stock to go under 28-29 doller range. all the news has been awful. on the contrary, if we get any slight news of recovery these stocks will fly. also, the shorts are getting frustated and the news have been bad but the stocks have done alright and they at some point half to start covering

I think this news was widely expected so it should not effect the
stock price that much? Remember Wall Street hates surprises and this
is not a surprise!
