Jim,

Please click the SI "Charts", and input LU and Asnd for a 100-day comparison graph. You will notice the price correlations.

For example, LU was $108 on July 19, and Asnd was $55.
Today LU is $87, Asnd 45, approximately 20% off for both stocks.

Therefore, if ".6" was an expectation/understanding of some sort, then the rumor has some basis. JMHO

Jim,

Don't worry about it. Tim is amusing to watch, and he changes his opinion about as often as he changes his socks. (just kidding Tim)

I seriously doubt that Mory has already sold ASND for 50. It would be outrageously suspicious and draw some serious investigation. It is illegal for LU to talk to ASND before Oct 1, and being a conservative company and LU will not do something so significant a $10B merger in an illegal manner.

Seriously, this is going to be the quarter that Ascend puts it all together. Based on my contacts with Ascend's largest customers, I know that there are going to be a lot of CBX500's and GX550's shipped THIS QUARTER. Already, the CFO has guided analysts upward on estimates for THIS QUARTER. Mory has maintained since this time last year that this was going to be THE QUARTER. Mory is not going to sell ASND for 50 during his finest quarter, and neither should you!!!

My explanation for the past week's action? There's a lot of tree-shaking going on. The big guys are taking advantage of the broken momentum to drive the price down so they can load up. I'm looking for a runnup in ASND next month prior to earnings release.
