If you believe he lied because of the "political embarrassment", then son I'm proud of you, and you passed the quiz. Answer "B" says substantially the same thing as you.

So the real truth here is: BC did Not lie "about sex" to save his family from embarrassement, but he *primarily* was motivated because of Political Reasons

Is it okay to commit perjury for political reasons, as you believe Bill did?

I don't think so, Pezz. There's something called "the rule of Law" which is in place specifically to help people Do the Right Thing.

In Bill Clinton's case, he did not respect the rule of law, and chose instead to follow his own selfish desires and political ambitions.

What a legacy.

pezz,

I think lying is an interesting subject for this thread. How about some questions for discussion:

1) Do you think there are differences in degrees of lying by subject matter? Say "I never inhaled" compared to "I never accepted campaign money from the Chinese governmet". ASSUMING they are both lies, is there a difference?

2) Is there a difference in lying when you are forceful and adamant such as "NOW I WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO THIS, I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMEN..." versus "I was never drafted".

3) Is there a difference between lying under oath and just lying to the public?

4) Do you think Bush lied when he said "No new taxes?". I don't. It may be semantical but I think its an important language issue.

<<<Now I know that the sentence just made is not entirely true but you get the point.>>>

<yawn> Having sufficiently carpet bombed the other thread I find that I still have plenty of ordnance left...now what was that about stretching the truth?
