i agree with you that it is unlikely that a bank would take over ckfr

but who would have thought that chrysler or citicorp would be on sale?

many companies that are neutral to banks could be looking for an acquisition--companies like oracle, EDS, etc. that are in this business could go on a hunting mission.

that being said, i still think they will be independed for at least another year or two--once the cash starts rolling in, they will look much juicier.

p.s. do you think that oracle is a threat? any inside scoop on msfdc?

I've not checked the SEC documents, but I heard from sources who should know that there is some poison pill whereby share buying would result in the issuance of a significant block of additional shares.
