Yes, there's something going on here. Have you checked the price points of Avail computers on Wal-Mart's web site? If not, I suggest you spend a half hour comparing Avail prices to Dell, Compaq and Gateway. It's not a pretty picture. Avail pricing is VERY similar to the big guys. Do you think that anyone will buy a no-name computer from a company (Wal-Mart) that is clearly uncommitted to any kind of electronic product, that is ambivalent about its web site, and which is not going to provide any after-sale service, for the same price as a computer from Dell? Get real! Without volume, ACI Micro will not get the best prices on any components, from processors to motherboards to hard drives, so pricing can not improve. And finally, anyone computer-savvy enough to hit Wal-Mart's web site is smart enough to shop around for a machine backed by a real company.
