FWIW, I sold 80% of my shares at the open @ 12 3/8. I've lost confidence in a turnaround . (nothing to do with the Yahoo report, however it does echo my sentiment of what is probably going on). Holding in hopes of a buyout is usually a losing proposition as well. Too many other fire sale tech plays out there that are not mired in uncertainty.

Good luck,

Larry

Starowl,
I guess next time I see something interesting I just pass it by because the guy doesn't have a real name or any kind of profile. Oh wait then I would have to skip all of your posts, which are quite good.
But seriously, of course that post should be weighted accordingly. It may not be entirely useless.

Patrick

The Hodgkin Rule resurfaces!

For those of you recent to this thread, the Hodgkin Rule, discussed some months ago, indicated a then-prevalent trend for Adaptec to move opposite to the market. It was amazing how often Adaptec would go up when the market was down, or vice versa. It got so if you had the right amount of Adaptec, you generally stayed right where you were no matter what happened, everything balanced.

Nice to see the rule back in these days of a depressed market, even if only for a day. Now I just hope when the market recovers Adaptec breaks the rule and goes with it!
