My freerealtime shows MINE closing at .437 with 187,900 shares traded today????

Regarding the Newmont rumour believe it started with the following post from multimedia at 1:17 Eastern on RB. At least that is the first time I saw it. But there was mention in the WSJ about Newmont geologists being in touch with Dr H.

ragingbull.com

I'd love it if the rumours were true, but if I were multimedia's contacts I'd be pretty worried about leaking inside info, especially when it is posted publically, seemingly only moments after uttered.

Hello Chief,

Please note that I did qualify the final portion of my statement with, "If the rumor..." I also harbor no illusions that I am (nor do I ever want to be) a "professional investor". I'm a "sometimes speculator" who enjoys rolling the dice for fun and "sometimes profit." For me, this is just a big Craps game that allows you to back up unlimited pass line bets w/ odds bets also having unlimited payoff potential. Therefore, you are absolutely right - I will be an amateur for quite some time !!

Chief, do you know of any reason(s) for Newmont stock to dip today? I think we can cover the infinite range of hypotheticals by considering it the context of these two: 1) something other than the GE rumor.
2) the GE rumor.

If it's #1, few of us would have even been aware of the price drop and, except for Newmont shareholders, could have cared less. For GE, it's a non-event, having no effect or relevance to GE whatsoever. If it's reason #2, I would consider the drop as: A) an indication that some current Newmont shareholders have little or no faith in Newmonts ability to conduct reliable DD. B) speculators, with the same lack of confidence in Newmonts DD capabilities, shorting Newmont stock.

Again, IF, IF, IF the rumor is TRUE, are Newmonts DD procedures so lacking in professionalism and efficiency as to warrant the lack of confidence evidenced by today's selloff?

These are not questions asked with sarcasm. I am very interested in your opinion of my supposition.

An advanced "thank you", Chief, for your input.
