I couldn't disagree with you more. I have been in the market for a new computer and have visited the Dell, Compaq, Gateway, and Apple sites. By far and I stress by far, the Compaq site is the best and clearest to use. In addition, I found that they were the most competitive for the type of computer I was looking for.

After much consideration however, I went with the best computer, the Apple G3. Paid too much, though.

williet:

You state:
> I own over 24,000 shares of CPQ, ...I am a very very very small investor in CPQ...

hmmm... lets see, 24000 shares of CPQ and you consider yourself a small investor?! Well perhaps you do not know the meaning of being a small investor! Unless you are a major fund manager I can tell you for sure that as an individual investor you are not just a small investor of CPQ!!!

In any event, if you truly (in reality and not in your dreams through some sort of out of body experiement) own 24000 shares of CPQ and now have decided to sell them all, please go ahead and with all means sell, I (and believe me I am a small investor of CPQ) will buy part of those 24000 shares from you first thing tomorrow morning if the price drops to below $34/shr again.

Best Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

williet,
Isn't CPQ really pursuing the Enterprise market? Is it not part of their master to plan to straighten out their house and get back into collecting Big $$$ from their servers, server storage options, workstations, and future Compaq (DEC) Services. Certainly the home market is valuable, but IMHO it is not the big reason for owning CPQ. I am particularly excited to see what CPQ can do regarding making some nice margins off of the former DEC Services organization.
I'd agree that EP and EM let us down for the first two quarters and that they've thrown in the towel for the 'transitional' 3-rd quarter. However, I believe that they can and will deliver a nice 4-th quarter. Perhaps they're even tucking some 'transitional' 3-rd quarter $$$ into the 4-th quarter earnings bucket for safety. These guys know we're watching them and they've known for MANY months that they MUST deliver a good 4-th quarter. EP is a competitor who does not like to lose.
Good luck to you in the future, but having held CPQ since Dec '91, I can tell you that I am still way LONG on CPQ!
