Semi OT: I am in the computer market, too, and getting conflicting information. Like it or not, my most important program is a DOS program. I have been told, "Yes, you can definitely run DOS applications from Pentium II PCs" as well as, "You are stuck. Pentium IIs with Windows 98 will not allow you to run DOS applications."

So, here I sit, using my 486 with Windows 3.1, because I can't seem to find any salesman who knows what he's talking about. The best I can get is someone wanting to sell me some off-name brand regular Pentium ("Hey! You'll save a bundle!") they put together.

Buying direct from either Compaq or Dell is not an option until I can figure out if I'm going to be buying a great, new, FAST, PC--that will not let me use the DOS database program I depend upon for my research [which does not have a windows version--obsolete with no replacement I can find].
