Trey,

The Tokyo market has been weak for the past 10 years and all of a sudden U.S. investors are worried about it. I don't get it but that's the way the market works. Investors gets fixated on things that at other times they don't care about. This is what defines a bull vs. bear market. When investors again ignore what's happening to the Nikkei, then our bull market will resume. I also think the major U.S. averages might take a big hit, but too many people are looking for it and I'm not sure if it will happen right now. The S&P 500 has tested 1054 several times and bounced. If that level is broken, then I think we could be in for a big move down.

Several semiconductor stocks that I follow are trading at or below book value. I agree that book value for a bank means more than book value for a semiconductor company. But still, these stocks are not fairly valued right now and I don't think the future fundamentals will be bad enough to justify these prices. Sometimes stocks get overvalued and sometimes they get undervalued. We have swung too far to the negative side but when it turns around I don't know.

BTW, the S&P futures are down 6.20 right now. Who knows where they will be when the market opens tomorrow morning.

Dan
