It was C|Net that said that AMD would announce today. I guess they were off by a day.

As for the technology race, Intel has just leap-froged AMD with the Mendocino. But, 350 Mhz K6-2 will sell in the next few months from IBM and Compaq. AMD should regain sales with the K6-3 and the K7. But, regardless of AMD's chances, the fact is that the Mendocino is a serious threat to the PII. And, as such, the PII clock speed has had to be increased to the point that it is a serious threat to the Zeon. The PC rags will sort all this out for the consumer.

Holders of AMD have already suffered serious stock price erosion. It is only a mater of time until the same thing happens to Intel stock holders.
