Great point that agrees with my outlook totally. I remember the networking crisis very well, as I got burned by it. True that the strong came back and ended up doing better than ever but in point of fact the only one that proved to be strong was surprise surprise CSCO. The others, a year and a half later, are all about where they were or else dramatically lower (i.e. coms). So the question for you ERP gurus is obvious: it is- is there a CSCO equivalent in the ERP field. I think the obvious answer is no. Clearly no single company bestrides the field as does CSCO in networking. Given that, is psft (or pick your favorite company here) enough of a tiger with tough ambitious management that they can actually use this momentary tough period to gain share and put some distance between them and their competitors. Perhaps. If so then while many of these stocks may not ever again see their glory days, one or a couple of the leaders will move up up and away. Personally I'm still waiting for an absolute steal around 25. May not happen but then there are plenty of other fish in this sea...
